What happens after mole removal?
Many people just proceed with mole removal without thinking of the after effects of it. After a mole removal surgery or laser mole removal is done, the area may become tender and red. A scab will normally form on the surface where the mole used to be and should fall off in one to two weeks. The redness around the area should disappear within four weeks.
After any of the procedures, the area may be covered with a bandage. Patients should avoid getting the area wet or moist to lessen the threat of infection, delayed healing or other possible complications.
If the mole removal procedure goes well, and sufficient care and dedication is given to allow the mole to recover, most people will have almost flawless skin after the procedure. However, one of the most common difficulties after mole removal is a scar. Many people will attempt to remove moles for cosmetic reasons, not realizing that each and every removal may result in a scar.
